Chasing Waves and Waterfalls in La Union

There’s just so many things you can do in La Union. It’s not all about the waves and beaches, but also the majestic falls in San Gabriel ‘The Tangadan Falls’.

How to get there

Board Bus to San Juan, La Union (6-7 hours) *Ride a bus going to Vigan or Laoag then ask the conductor to drop you off in San Juan.

*Partas Pasay – 02 851-4025 near Five Star
*Other Bus lines operating the route are Partas, Viron, Dominion and Farinas.


Going to Tangadan Falls

From San Juan, La Union, take a jeep going North and ask the driver to drop you off at San Gabriel. (Around 30 minutes to 45 minutes).

In the town proper, ride a tricycle and tell the driver you’re going to Tangadan Falls. Hire a guide. Day Trek is usually 45 minutes to 1 hour (depends on your pace).

What to Do

Surf in San Juan. La Union is known to be the surfing capital of the North, no wonder that a lot of tourists flock here anytime of the year due to its consistent waves and beach break.






Trekking and cliff diving in Tangadan Falls.  Another attraction in La Union is currently making waves to adrenaline-junkies. Tangadan falls is a 40-foot giant tucked within the mountains of San Gabriel.
