Think dream trip like famed island #Boracay in the #Philippines is totally out of reach? I’m not going to lie, Boracay is a pretty expensive place, but like everywhere else, there are #affordable ways to get around it. Here’s my travel guide and low-cost tips that will help you get on your way.

How to get there

From Manila there are several flights daily from Manila airport to Caticlan Airport or Kalibo Airport. From Caticlan airport it is a 15 minute bus ride to Caticlan Jetty Port followed by 15 minute boat ride to Boracay Island’s Cagban Port and another 15-20 minute land trip to the resorts in White Beach.

As for us, we take the Kalibo Airport, it takes around 1.5 to 2 hours of travel time, bus or van to Caticlan Jetty Port (Fare: Php 250 van with boat ride). Upon arrival at the jetty port, proceed to the booths near the entrance to the building and settle the Terminal Fee (Php 100) and Environmental Fee (Php75).

Inside the port building, register, proceed to the Passenger Waiting Area, and wait for the boarding announcement. You will dock either Cagban or Tambisaan Port. Either way, there are tricycles waiting here that can take you to your hotel that cost Php25 per ride.

There are a lot of choices to have when you are looking for a cozy and comfortable accommodation in Boracay.

What to do

Basically, apart from dancing or partying in Boracay, vacationers can enjoy sunbathing on the powdery white sand of Boracay. For Adventure seekers, you can try watersports such as flying fish, Parasailing, Helmet Diving, ATV ride to Mt.Luho,Island Hopping, Standup Paddling  or take a boat ride to Ariel’s Point where they can face their fears and dive off of cliffs 5 meters, 8 meters, and 15 meters high.

There is an abundance of things to do while you’re in Boracay. And remember, travelling in your dream place is not costly as you think of, you just have to know how to cut your budget wise.
